Thought I would take on the Wednesday Sketch challenge from My Favorite things.

This week the sketch is this simple design

I had the Martini Time stamp set sitting on my desk for a while but thought I could make a simple but cute card.

Thank you for looking at my card.

Cheers!

Christmas Card Making – 2018

January 1st, 2019 klwade Posted in Cardmaking, Crafts No Comments »

For the last few years I have made my Christmas Cards instead of buying them. Not sure what prompted that change. Maybe I had more time, maybe I could not find cards I like, maybe I am just plum crazy.

Tell-Tale signs of cards to come.

This year I snagged the card design from Cathy Z using Honey Bee Stamps. I also did my cards last year from Honey Bee Stamps.

Tray after tray of snowman cards!

Although these cards were easy to make I had to glue a million little letters and pieces together.

Of course I was late mailing my cards again. Like every year!

Some of the Snowman Styles

I decided this year to decorate the envelopes as well. I used my new Maltese Return Address Stamp on the card. It looks like Ms. Olive.

For the inside of the card I used a Tim Holtz Christmas Stamp that I had found in my stash. Thought it would work perfectly.

And then on the back I have my Handmade by ShinyTinFoil.com stamp. I just ordered it on Etsy and the dear woman mailed it within one day. It is adorable and I will have to order one with my name versus my brand.

And the final piece is the envelope. The bunnies come from the same Stamp Set.

However the thrill of it all, is that once I posted it on Instagram, Honey Bee Stamps reposted it. I received over 600 likes and got some new followers on Instagram! Yahoo!

I mailed off the stamps and the some peeps let me know they got theirs. No returns in the mail (as of yet).

Until next year.

I really need to get started sooner. LOL.

Adding to the Simon Says Anything Goes Contest!

A thank you card and farewell to a my sweet Beau

September 3rd, 2018 klwade Posted in Cardmaking, Crafts 2 Comments »

My sweet cat Beau died in July.   He had been very ill with diabetes.  I had been fighting his illness for a few months and every vet visit the news was a just not want I wanted.  He continued to lose weight, or his levels would rise.  Seems like it was never going to stabalize.  Then he kept stumbling when he was walking like his was on slippery ice.

Finally he got to a point where I knew it was time.  As heartbreaking as it was, I knew it was the right thing.  What was so sad is that I lost his brother about two years before from cancer.    Owning animals will be eventual heartbreak.  But we all know that and do it anyways.

I usually struggle to find a vet for my animals that I completely respect and know in my heart that they are the best at what they do, however I hit the jackpot my my vet at The Cat Doctor.

Dr. Tracy is an awesome vet who does everything to help my animals.   She especially loved Beau as she told me once that he always gave her love and kisses.  She said most cats are so scared that they do not do that but my Beau always knew he had a friend in Dr. Tracy.   When he was in the hospital she would sit with him while eating her lunch!

The day I put Beau down, Dr. Tracy was out of town and the very sweet Dr. Melissa helped me with his passing.

However I wanted to make sure Dr. Tracy knew that we loved her and that sweet beau wanted to say thanks.

So I made her this little card to tell her how much I appreciated everything she did.

Copic Coloring some Suzy Plantamura Cards

September 3rd, 2018 klwade Posted in Cardmaking, Crafts 3 Comments »

I wanted to make some cards but was not in the to be super creative.  So I decided to color in a few of the Suzy Plantamura printed watercolor cards.

I decided to do copic coloring instead of watercolors because I wanted to dabble a bit with my copics.

These cute card sets are sold by Simon Says Stamp and have a variety of themes and occasions.   This one is called Sweet Treats.

The cards were embellished with nuvo drops and some shimmer pens.

A closeup shows how I added shimmer to the cotton candy!

A close up of the cake, using both Nuvo drops and shimmer pens to add more dimension.

Simon Says Stamp – Halloween Kit 2017 (Part Two)

October 30th, 2017 klwade Posted in Cardmaking, Crafts, Simon Says Stamp Card Kit No Comments »

I finally got around to finishing my Halloween cards.   And before Halloween!   LOL  What an accomplishment!

I still had more ideas, but really, it needed to stop.

This first card came to me when I was looking at my stencils.  I loved all the brooms and thought they would be cute on a spooky skyline.

This card came to me while looking at the candies.  Nothing looks more yummy than a bunch of candies.  Besides I had just gotten the Nuvo drops and had to use them.

This card was a failed attempt to look like a lit pumpkin at night.  I made a mess of it.  But it did become a card.

I stole this idea from Jennifer McGuire.  She did some cute cards using mesh.

Close up of the cat.

Since I was stealing, I decided to steal more.  I took this directly from the kit.

I decided to use some of the stickers.   I am not a huge fan of stickers.  They always look odd to me on a card.  But I had to try.

In case you missed my other post.  These are the cards I did earlier.

So WITCH one is your favorite.

Thanks for checking it out.

Simon Says Stamp 2017 Halloween Kit – Creepy Cute!

October 2nd, 2017 klwade Posted in Cardmaking, Crafts, Simon Says Stamp Card Kit No Comments »

It comes as no surprise to friends and family that Halloween is my favorite holiday.  Nothing is as exciting than cute critters in witches hats…   paper in orange, black, green and purple.  A ghost or two.

So when Simon Says Stamp came out with their annual Halloween kit I was right there…probably order number 17 in the list of people.

The stamp set is just awesome.

My first card I wanted to use a new bat stencil I bought recently.   I used black embossing paste but discovered it was matte and hard to see.  I ended up using some wonderful purple glitter paint on the card to highlight the bats.

My second card I had wanted to use the google eyes.

Isn’t that cute how they eyes come out of the paper.

I don’ know about you but usually the first two cards are a struggle when I start a kit, I seem to get better as the card progress.

You be the judge.

Pretty simple card but I like it.

I bought some cool green glitter I just needed to use.

I ended up using the green glitter on the witches brew….but to spice it up I used the glow in the dark drops and the crystal blizzard nuvo drops to create the bubbles.

A close up….too bad I cannot get a photo of the glow in the dark

For my 5th card, I wanted to use the shaker beads.

I used the moon stamp and then re-stamped it again to use the glow in the dark embossing powder.

There are more cards to post but I wanted to make the deadline for the Simon Says Stamp Challenge.

Look for more later this week.
