Stamp-a-faire 2017: 2nd Anniversary Tradition: Cotton – Challenge

August 29th, 2017 klwade Posted in Cardmaking, Crafts, Stamp-a-Faire No Comments »

The 2nd anniversary challenge is do make an item with cotton.

I chose the 2nd option by Michelle Leone

She made a cute lavender sachet.

  • Now it’s your turn!  Create a project featuring some kind of die-cut fabric flowers.  You can choose to re-create the exact project from Michelle above or design your own using the same concepts. Your project must also incorporate at least one Papertrey product.

I wont be making a sachet pouch as I tend to focus only on cards.

Since the challenge was die cut flowers I thought I would get out some of those older die cuts and make a simple flower card.  sorry for the dark lighting but I get home way too late to get a good shot.

Supplies:

Paper:  Neenah Solar White Card stock, Papertrey Ink Ombre Stripes Patterned Paper

Stamps:  Papertrey Ink Delightful Dahlia Additions Stamps

Die Cuts:  Sizzix Framelites Flower Layers and Leaf

Other:  Stamping Up! Designer Fabric Sweet Stitches Brads, Papertrey Ink Felt, My Minds Eye Christmas Market Street Enamel Dots, Stampin Up! Melon Mango Embossing Powder

Stamp – A – Faire 2017 Begins!!!!

August 27th, 2017 klwade Posted in Cardmaking, Crafts, Stamp-a-Faire No Comments »

Well it has been a whole year since the last Stamp-a-Faire event and I look forward to this one.

This one should be a doozy since it is their 10th year Anniversary!   The theme this year is Anniversary!  LOL  Imagine that.   Going with traditional themes on annversaries I should see the following ideas flow from the creative team over at Papertrey Ink!

Here is the list of traditional gifts that we will focus on.  There will be designers for each anniversary, however I will only focus on doing one card for each anniversary.   Makes it much easier for me to actually finish the challenge.

As always, my lovely sister will join me.  I hope she posts her cards for all to see.

Ok, lets go!!!

I like to create goodie bags for events at my house.  This year I went for the black and white theme.

I got the following from Michaels:

Black tray, Note pad with Initial, Flip message Pad

The rest I got from Amazon

My Favorite Things Black and White pattern paper, Black and white bakers twine and a black pen with a big old diamond on top

I also got the following:

A tote bag with my initial on it.  (also Michaels) and now you can see the tray.

Nuvo Drops in black and white

Bath and Body Works hand cream and body lotion

Zippered tote mesh bag

Mini frame with Initial (Michaels)

Salt Pinch with initial (Michaels)

I think the goodies set the tone for a good day!

MFT Camp Create – Day Six Stunning Shadow Stamping

August 17th, 2016 klwade Posted in Cardmaking, Crafts No Comments »

I had just did a shadow stamping card for my Tim Holtz class, so I was familiar with the technique.

Handmade card from Stephanie Klauck featuring Flashy Florals stamp set and Thanks & Hello Die-namics #mftstamps

I love Stephanie Klauck’s card, but I wanted more color to mine.  So I decided to use Kraft cardstock and use multiple colors of ink.

For those who do not have the My Favorite Things Hybrid Stamp pads, I highly recommend them.  The colors are so bright and the ink is so juicy.   Sometimes I will get an ink pad and will be so disappointed that I can hardly get any color from them.  These inks ROCK!!!!

Shadow Stamping

To highlight the card, I embossed the secondary images in Liquid Platinum embossing powder.

You can see the embossing better in this highlight.  I used the trick I learned in class about using a glue pen to make small dots and add embossing powder on it.
